Carving Pumpkins

Last Saturday we picked out pumpkins to carve and when it came to pickin' the perfect pumpkin to carve we went with Size and price over color. It was going to be dark outside on Halloween night, Right? So, color really didn't matter anyway. Have you ever heard of a Frankin' Pumpkin? Well those are the ones we came home with. It made for a fun family night on Monday. It was cute how Colton was fascinated with the pumpkins and wanted to keep touching them. We couldn't get him to even look at the camera for a picture. I think all of the carvings turned out Great!!!!

Cassie Ray

Cassie loves to have her hair done and wants it done the way she wants it or not at all, so the other day I told her I wanted to try something I had seen on another blog. Of course she said "NO, I just want two ponies" I pleaded with her and I finally won out. When she saw the finished style all she could do was stare in the mirror and tell me she was so pretty!!! I just love the big smile and she said I had to take her picture and she couldn't wait to pose for the camera!!!

Colton @ 3 months

Our little Colton! Isn't he just the cutest little man you've ever seen? Okay, We sure think so! He is so alert all of the time now and is so amazed with his fingers and loves to chew on them all of the time. I just love it when he looks at me with his big smile on his face and starts to giggle. Colton is starting to look more and more like his big sister Kaylie every day.Kaylie just can't seem to get enough of him and is a real big help taking care of him.

Blackpowder Hunt 2008

Annette and Dad's black powder elk hunt started on October 1st. We have been looking high and low for an elk and had not seen one since September 2oth when I killed my cow. Finally on October 8th the day before the last day, Dad was set up on a field when around 6:30 pm Dad spotted a nice 5x5 bull coming down the trail, when the bull turned broad side at around 50 yards, Dad shot and when the smoke cleared the bull had dropped in his tracks.

Archery Hunt 2008

Mike and I have been hunting hard since August 30Th for Elk. On September 20Th My nephew Layne Rumsey wanted to go Elk hunting with us. It was raining so hard we thought about not going. We had been sitting on a water hole for around 2 hours in the pouring rain, when I heard the elk coming through the timber. I told Layne "here they come" when a dry cow and hard horn spike came running down the trail. As the cow came running by at around 20 yards I stuck her in the chest. She went about 20 yards and stopped so I stuck her again, she then busted out of the country. The rain was coming down so hard, we were afraid of loosing the blood trail. When Mike got to our location it was starting to get dark and was still pouring rain. We had a hard time finding the blood trail. We were able to locate the blood trail and found the cow about 70 yards away. I figure I have found three shed elk antlers and one wolf kill 4x5 Elk this fall so MEAT IN THE FREEZER!
