It was so much fun getting ready for Halloween this year. With Colton being so little we had a Lion costume for him to wear that Kaylie wore when she was an infant and so that got the wheels turning in this old brain of mine and this is what we came up with...
Colton --- The Cowardly Lion
Cassie ---Glinda the Good Witch
Braxton ---The Tinman
Kaylie --- Dorthy
The kids wanted me to be The Scarecrow (which really seems to be appropriate, because I really feel like I have lost my mind on most days, "If I only had a Brain?")!
As I started making the costumes for Braxton and Cassie, I figured "No worry, the Lion costume is in the Halloween box where is should be, and we just bought Kaylie's outfit. So,On Thursday I went to pull out the lion outfit to get it washed and ready for Colton to wear and just my luck it was nowhere to be found. I tore thru all of the storage bins and still could not find it. I really couldn't think that I would have loaned it out. I just couldn't believe it, it was the one costume that got the theme going for our Halloween. What was I going to do??? I really didn't know!
Later that night I dropped Braxton off at wrestling practice and ran over to Kmart, I remember seeing a lion costume in one of their ads, I was just hoping to find something... anything that would work, because you just never know what is left to choose from with it being the night before Halloween? When I walked in and didn't see anything until on one rack I could see a mane, and wouldn't you know it another customer had it in their hands and was looking at it and commented to me how cute it was and all I could think of was "please don't walk away with it",(along with visions of the morning after thanksgiving day sales may ham of the knockdown drag-out way of doing whatever it takes to get the last one of that must have gift before its gone)so as soon as she put it down I took it and put in my basket without even looking at the size! At that point I just needed a lion costume and I didn't even care what size it was, we were going to make it work. Whatever it took!!!
As you can tell from the pictures it all turned out the way we had planned. Honestly it was even BETTER then we had planned, this lion costume was so cute compared to the old lion costume. And, no I didn't make it disappear.
(You all know it will show up in the next month or so in the one place you would never think!!! IF I ONLY HAD A BRAIN!!!!)
I hope every one had a wonderfully SPOOKY TIME on Halloween and received enough candy to last till next year:0)
