Yagottawanna F.O.W.Y.A

This year I had the opportunity to go to girls camp this year with our ward. Our camp leader Sister Dana called me and asked if I would like to help with the planning of the crafts the girls would be doing at camp. I was so excited, and the best part was that it was going to be Kaylie's first year at camp. We had 31 wonderful girls at camp this year. It was so much fun to be able to visit with each of them in the craft tent when they would vcome into work on their projects on their down time.
Our theme this year for camp was Yagottawanna F.OW.Y.A {Find Out Who You Are}...We also went with an indian theme. The girls had so much fun making drums, dream catchers, hemp bracelets, flags, hair wraps, necklaces and hair clips. There were skits, water jousting, canoeing, a hike through some of the most beautiful country and time around the campfire, It was so nice being able to be apart of such an amazing time with so many amazing girls!
I am so thankful that my daughter has the most loving and caring Young Women Leaders to look after her and for her to look up to! I can't thank them enough!

9 Months

It is so hard for me to think that my little Teacus is growing up so fast! He is 9 months old today and is learning new things everyday. He has no teeth in yet but he sure has a good bite. Colton is crawling around everywhere and is on the go all of the time. I don't think he realizes that he can just sit still, when I am holding him he likes to turn circles on my lap. Colton pulls himself up to anything he can grab onto and I don't think it will be long before he is walking(my other babies were walking at 10 months). He is saying three things very clearly now and They are "Mama", "Dadda" and Lyle's favorite "DEER"....and we are working on waving for HI and Bye-bye. I love him so very much and I just can't seem to get enough of him and his wonderful kisses and his BIG HAPPY SMILES!

Weekend away with friends...

Island park is such a fun place to get away to even if it's just for a weekend.

We had so much fun. It was a BLAST!!!! Thank you to Holly and Dallen for the invite up to the most amazing cabin! Our family along with three other wonderful families got to hang out all weekend long and just enjoy it. It snowed the entire time we were there and there wasn't a complaint from anyone. It was so beautiful and I am not one to like the snow, but this was so nice! The kids of every age had plenty of things to keep them busy from playing in the snow, movies, games of all kinds and now that I am going thru my pictures I don't have any of Braxton up there becuse he was in the other room on the Wii almost the entire time.(This is why we don't have one- I would be grounding him all of the time just to keep him off of it!)and the food was so good.
When it was time to leave for home on Sunday, no one wanted to go! It was hard to get back to real life. On the way home it got a little scary coming down off of the Ashton hill, it was a complete WHITE-OUT! There were times when we didn't know if we were on the road or not...SO SCARY...Did I mention that I HATE the snow? Thank goodness it started to get better after we made it thru Ashton. It was just so much fun having time away with such great friends!!!!!

My Little Cookie Monster....

The other day I let Lil' Teacus have a cookie for the first time. He thought it was so yummy. He was making some of the funniest sounds while he was eating it. I just love these pictures that I took. Isn't he SOOOO CUTE!!!!!

I think he's ADDICTED!!!!

I think I have helped create a monster...

Lyle is ADDICTED to facebook!

I have had my own facebook page for a short time and Lyle thought I was crazy for even setting one up. But, it didn't take long to catch Lyle on my Facebook page chatting with some of his old friends and Mission Buddies. He started posting things in my name and so I finally kicked him off of my page and started him one of his own. I don't know if that was a good idea??? He is on his Facebook every chance he gets.
I even took him out on a date the other night just to get him away from the computer and have a normal conversation with him. Okay, maybe that's just an excuse to go on a date, but it did keep him off of the computer for a short time! I have to admit it has been fun catching up with old friends and thanks to Lyle making new friends by getting to know his friends.

P.S. I might be ADDICTED TO FACEBOOK TOO!!!!

Lyle's January Cow Hunt 2009

Lyle was able to go hunting in January. Boy, He was so excited! His tag was good for a Cow Elk. The Wednesday morning the hunt opened Lyle headed out with two of his Friends that were just as excited as Lyle was(even though they didn't have a tag).

The guys were able to get into the elk early that morning and see a herd of about 150Bulls and about 250 Cows. Lyle can tell the story a lot better then I can so, you'll have to ask him about it when you see him.

Don't you just love the picture? Teacus didn't know what to think!

Christmas pictures

Where has all the time gone?

I can't believe it has been so long since my last post! I really had intentions of staying on top of things on this blog, boy has the time just gotten away from me. Lyle has even commented on me and my needing to add to the blog. Yes, Lyle is a closet blog reader! It is so FUNNY!!!! -He won't admit to it;)!

November was a good month for all of us. Lyle and I still had hunting tags to fill and I was able to make it out a few times but Lyle on the other hand was gone almost every chance he had. Thanksgiving was fun for all of the family. We spent part of the day at Elizabeth and Mike's house out in Archer. I didn't get any pictures because my camera has been broken. Black Friday was fast and furious this year but it was nice to plan my lists and get all the items I needed and to be done Christmas shopping in one day.

The first part of December came and went very fast. Colton turned six months old and at his check up he weighed in at 15lbs. 11 ozs. So, he is growing so fast. I still can't believe he six months. He looks more and more like his Big Sister Kaylie every day. It has to be his BIG BROWN EYES!!!! They are so pretty. Kaylie is so happy to help with him. She is such a good little mom and has started babysitting for others and earning a little extra spending money of her own. She really loves little kids!
Braxton finished up fall wrestling and can't wait till the end of February when it starts up again. Cassie is still adjusting to school and is starting to like it more and more. We can only hope she will enjoy it as much as her brother and sister have. It was so funny, one day Cassie was working on her math homework and fell asleep at the table. The Picture says it all...

Who would have thought kindergarten math could be so exhausting? It was so CUTE!:0)

I am so proud of my wonderful husband, he works so hard at his job putting in long hours and making sure everything is taken care of for the kids. He was promoted to Lieutenant over the patrol division at work! Kudos to Him!!!!

The kids were so excited for the Christmas school break and all the snow!!! They were making big plans for all of the time they would spend playing in the snow and spending time with friends. It was going to be so much fun.

I was so excited for Christmas this year too! It was the first Christmas that I was not sick from pregnancy in three years and had all the decorations out and up, all the things I needed for gifts and my Christmas cards made, I was ready except for the finishing touches. It was going to come together great!!

The kids got out of school on the 19th of Dec. and my brother had called to see if I could help him out on a job site of his because he had just had surgery on his ankle and needed some help. Lyle wasn't working and said he could help out too. So, I made plans for my mom to watch the kids and they could spend some time with their cousins while we got some paint work done. It was a working out to be a great plan. That Friday night Lyle had said something to the fact that maybe we shouldn't go and I said "no, We have to! The kids will have fun and my brother needs our help." So we put our plan to work into action. Saturday morning we ended up sleeping thru the alarm. The plan was to be at the job site at 8:30 in the morning, we didn't get out of the house till after 8:00. The roads were not to bad we just had to drive carefully because we had just received all of that new snow. We made it to Idaho Falls and I had Lyle stop at a convenient store to fill my addiction for DR. PEPPER (oh, how I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the sweet taste of ice cold Dr. Pepper) anyway I just bought a 44oz. for the long day. Yes, I know, I said I have an ADDICTION!! I am not in denial. It's my shot of happiness as Lyle would say. We were at the intersection of Hitt and 17th. We were turning east onto 17th to head up to the light by Sonic, just after we made our turn and were int he inside lane approaching the Albertson's/Hollywood Video parking lot we noticed a lady in her Honda Pilot flying out of the parking lot and was not even looking at traffic that was headed east, she was looking east at what was headed west and turning to cross three lanes of traffic to head west on 17th. We knew what was going to happen... Lyle was honking his horn and trying to stop the car before we hit. Yes, we hit her, I still don't think she looked our way until the impact. It happened so fast, and boy did it hurt and still does. I had turned for my babies and braced myself on the dash for impact. We are SO LUCKY our air bags didn't go off. I truly believe I would have broken my arm! So, to make a long story shorter.... No one was transported to the hospital. Thank goodness! But later that day Lyle and I were in some real pain and ended up going to the Dr. office. He said we would be sore for a few days. By Monday afternoon the pain was just awful. We made appts. for the Chiropractor we have been having to go in every other day to work thru the pains. The kids have been having to go in too.

With the accident I didn't get everything done for Christmas that I wanted to and had planned. I have to thank my mom who took a day off work to come up and drive me around to do all my last minute things on that Tuesday before Christmas or I would never of had a way to get around or the time to do everything, because we couldn't get a rental car until Christmas eve morning.

Christmas turned out to be a nice quiet day at home taking it easy and just enjoying the time together. The kids were excited to see that Santa found our house and that they were not on the naughty list.

New Years was alot of FUN!!!! We ended up going over to one of Lyle's friends house and had a GREAT TIME! I can't remember a new years where I laughed and had so much fun.

All in all, Our Christmas vacation was one for the books. I really would have liked to have enjoyed it more then we did!

I am counting my blessings because everything could have been much worse.

I hope everyone had a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!

Wizard of OZ - Halloween 2008

It was so much fun getting ready for Halloween this year. With Colton being so little we had a Lion costume for him to wear that Kaylie wore when she was an infant and so that got the wheels turning in this old brain of mine and this is what we came up with...

Colton --- The Cowardly Lion
Cassie ---Glinda the Good Witch
Braxton ---The Tinman
Kaylie --- Dorthy

The kids wanted me to be The Scarecrow (which really seems to be appropriate, because I really feel like I have lost my mind on most days, "If I only had a Brain?")!

As I started making the costumes for Braxton and Cassie, I figured "No worry, the Lion costume is in the Halloween box where is should be, and we just bought Kaylie's outfit. So,On Thursday I went to pull out the lion outfit to get it washed and ready for Colton to wear and just my luck it was nowhere to be found. I tore thru all of the storage bins and still could not find it. I really couldn't think that I would have loaned it out. I just couldn't believe it, it was the one costume that got the theme going for our Halloween. What was I going to do??? I really didn't know!

Later that night I dropped Braxton off at wrestling practice and ran over to Kmart, I remember seeing a lion costume in one of their ads, I was just hoping to find something... anything that would work, because you just never know what is left to choose from with it being the night before Halloween? When I walked in and didn't see anything until on one rack I could see a mane, and wouldn't you know it another customer had it in their hands and was looking at it and commented to me how cute it was and all I could think of was "please don't walk away with it",(along with visions of the morning after thanksgiving day sales may ham of the knockdown drag-out way of doing whatever it takes to get the last one of that must have gift before its gone)so as soon as she put it down I took it and put in my basket without even looking at the size! At that point I just needed a lion costume and I didn't even care what size it was, we were going to make it work. Whatever it took!!!

As you can tell from the pictures it all turned out the way we had planned. Honestly it was even BETTER then we had planned, this lion costume was so cute compared to the old lion costume. And, no I didn't make it disappear.

(You all know it will show up in the next month or so in the one place you would never think!!! IF I ONLY HAD A BRAIN!!!!)

I hope every one had a wonderfully SPOOKY TIME on Halloween and received enough candy to last till next year:0)

Carving Pumpkins

Last Saturday we picked out pumpkins to carve and when it came to pickin' the perfect pumpkin to carve we went with Size and price over color. It was going to be dark outside on Halloween night, Right? So, color really didn't matter anyway. Have you ever heard of a Frankin' Pumpkin? Well those are the ones we came home with. It made for a fun family night on Monday. It was cute how Colton was fascinated with the pumpkins and wanted to keep touching them. We couldn't get him to even look at the camera for a picture. I think all of the carvings turned out Great!!!!
